Old Burmese Ceremonial Offering Container
Gilt over black lacquer offering bowl in the form of a stupa, having raised black lacquer design and red lacquer interior and underside. Known as a ‘hsun--ok’ bowl, it could have been used to carry offerings to the monk and monasteries as well as used on a home shrine, placed in front of a Buddha image along with flowers and other small items. 19th/early 20th century, Burma
