Antique French Basket

Hand woven basket in like new condition because it was covered in cloth with lace trim as can be seen in the last two photos. It probably was used as a sewing basket which necessitated the covering.  This form can be seen in mid-nineteenth century flower paintings.  French, circa 1850-1880
