Antique Oil Painting of The Wetterhorn by Swedish Artist Elin Billing

Oil on canvas depicting a woman and child with the Wetterhorn in the background.   This famous peak in the Swiss Alps is in the canton of Bern, above the village of Grindelwald.  Signed E B and dated (18)84 in the lower right corner.  Elin Billing "von till farmor"  (friend of grandmother) is written on stretcher by previous owner.  Further provenance attached to the back indicates that Elli (sic) studied at a girl's boarding school in Switzerland and that the painting probably dates from that time.  It also says that the original gilded frame was damaged and replaced in 1972.  Swedish artist in Switzerland
