Mid-Century Swedish Sami Pewter Spoon, circa 1960
Handmade pewter spoon in the form of a belt cup, featuring punch engravings of traditional Kata (dwelling) and figures hunting reindeer, the centre net motif depicts a fishing net. Using metal or pewter in this way became common practice in the 1960s. More recent metal spoons made as tourist items have metal dangles hanging from them, maker's symbol on the back, Sami people, Northern Sweden, 1960s
