Dorje

Cast bronze dorje used as a ritual object in the practice of Tibetan Buddhism. The centre sphere is surrounded by stylised lotus flowers, representing the endless cycle of suffering. Both ends have nine spokes which close in a lotus shape which also has symbolic meaning. Tibet, 19th century (?). 10cm long
