Highly stylized crouching figure with upturned arms next to bent knees, carved from strong, heavy Narra (?) wood.  Bulul figures are representations of ancestors  and were placed in granaries to guard rice crops and to ensure the bounty and quality of the crop.   Carved by Ifugao people who live in the mountains of central Luzon, Philippines, 20th century
