Greenland Mid-Century Wooden Bust

Carved wooden portrait of an Inuit face, hard blonde wood with yellow staining.  Collected by John Newall circa 1960.  At that time his work as a "journalist" took him to Soviet Union countries as well as North Korea and the most direct route from London was through Anchorage.  It is there that his fascination for Inuit culture began.
