Mid-Century Swedish Market Scene by listed artist Axel Hamborn (1892-1987)
Oil painting on hardboard depicting people shopping at a farmer's market, signed Hamborn in lower right corner and dated on the back 1961. A newspaper clipping attached to the back describes Axel Hamborn's training at the Academy of Fine Arts, Malmo from 1920-26. He exhibited continuously from the 1920s onward in Sweden and abroad. His works can be found in the National Museum, the Gothenburg Museum of Art, Malmo Museum, Landskrona Museum, and Ateneum in Helsinki.
