Mid Century Swedish Painting of Hamnen Menton (Menton Harbour) by Johan Boren

Oil painting on hardboard painted by well listed artist J. Boren (1903-1983) during his mid-century study travels to the French Riviera.  Starting in 1932 he regularly exhibited with major regional groups, including Skane Art Association and the prominent Swedish modern artist collective known as Group De tolv (The Twelve). His paintings are held in the Malmo Art Museum and Tomelilla Konsthall.  This painting falls into his most desirable category: a well composed, cubist-influenced mid-century French harbor scene.
